Broadcom 43XX driver for Linux

Perfect example of why I created this diary- While installing Linux on an HP Pavilion laptop, I had the stomach churning realization that the wireless card was not powering on. After digging around in the network settings, it was soon apparent that Ubuntu simply had no built-in way of communicating with the radio. Fantastic.
After several Google searches and visits to outdated or irrelevant web sites, I finally found a solid solution: http://wiki.debian.org/wl I have no idea how I found it. The search string and clicking pathway to the site are eternally forgotten, but no worries. Here it is, preserved for future reference.
I could not possibly repeat the steps and modules the site directed me to install. All I know is that it magically works, and the little blue light on the wireless radio came on. Yeah!
